The Geneva-based firm presents its 31st Manufacture Calibre in a series of new creations. In addition, the brand also extends its ladies collection with three new versions in the Classics Carrée Ladies line.

31 Calibres in 35 Years

Frederique Constant stands out as a Geneva manufacture that’s developed 31 calibers in-house in just 35 years old of existence. The new Classic Power Reserve Big Date Manufacture brings to life Frederique Constant’s latest Manufacture calibre, the FC-735. It’s the first calibre from the brand to offer a big date, a moon phase and a power reserve indicator – now for a total of 50 hours., The latter is indicated at 9 o’clock by a slim, dedicated hand travelling along an arc marked out from 0 to 50, ending in a red zone warning that it’s time to wind the watch before it stops.

Opposite, between 2 and 3 o’clock, the big date proudly displays its encircled double window. This perfect balance is further highlighted by a radiant, poetic moon phase at 6 o’clock on a starry blue background.

Easy to Use Complications

The three complications, time set function and winding mechanism are all adjusted via the crown at 3 o’clock. With no pushers, correctors or styluses, the FC-735 movement is resolutely modern.

Harmoniously arrayed within the firm’s Classic case, with a diameter of only 40mm in observance of watchmaking standards, this benefits from a recent styling overhaul including re-dimensioned lugs and profile, as well as slimmer hour markers. The latter, together with the hands, are diamond-faceted and hand-polished. The case also sports an open back, allowing each collector to admire the inner workings of their new FC-735 Manufacture calibre.

Frederique Constant celebrates this launch with four variations of the new Classic Power Reserve Big Date Manufacture. To mark the brand’s 35th anniversary, the first is a limited edition of 35 fully-polished platinum case with a meteorite dial, with a matching navy blue alligator strap. The second comes in a rose gold case with sun-brushed grey dial on brown alligator strap, and is a limited release of 350 watches. Finally, these are joined by two versions in polished steel cases and blue alligator leather strap, featuring a sun-brushed dial in a blue or silver finish.

Timeless Style meets Watchmaking Elegance

The Classics line first came out in 2005 and has been a staple of Frederique Constant’s collections ever since. This year, Frederique Constant adds three new versions of the Classics Carrée Ladies. Like three sisters united by the same stylistic ethos, the new versions maintain the coherence of the line by embodying the same creative flair: a gold-plated case, broad Roman numerals, a sunburst dial decorated in the centre with a Clous de Paris guilloché disc, and subtle jewel settings.

The first version features a midnight blue dial, sporting set diamonds on both the guilloché dial and the rose gold-plated case. The play on the contrasting effect of sparkling diamonds and gold amid dark midnight blue evoke the image of stars shining in the night sky.

The second version sees a dial of sunburst grey enhanced by a central guilloché disc surrounded by diamonds. The case here is also rose gold plated, offering the simplicity and delicacy of a polished finish to highlight its gentle curves.

For a sportier feel, a third version in plated yellow gold and sunburst grey dial is paired with a steel strap and deployant clasp. Comprising three flexible links, the strap matches the case, with a satin finish for the central link and polishing for the two outer ones. The all-grey dial sports a grey guilloché finish in the centre and a sunburst around the edges, with the two areas separated by a line of diamonds.

All three versions share the same highly discreet 23 x 21mm format and are powered by the FC-200 quartz movement, providing an ample battery life of 6 years.
