60 Years of Excellence: Frederique Constant Classic Worldtimer Manufacture for Watches of Switzerland
14 Jan 2025 · 5 min read

In the world of watchmaking, the confluence of craftsmanship and thoughtful design serves as the heartbeat of timeless creations. In a significant milestone, Swiss watchmaker Frederique Constant partners with Watches of Switzerland to celebrate six decades of dedication to refined watchmaking.

At the centre of this collaboration is the Frederique Constant Classic Worldtimer Manufacture. This commemorative edition marks the 60th anniversary for Watches of Switzerland as the watch embodies the ethos of both brands: a shared respect for tradition and a commitment to evolving innovation.

A Global Perspective in Design

The hour markers are split between a shade of white and navy to separate day from night

The Classic Worldtimer Manufacture boasts a meticulously designed sunray dial that's bathed in a salmon shade, featuring a subtle interplay of textures and colours. The world map emboss in grey seamlessly integrates artistry with technical precision, while the salmon city disc bearing 24 IATA airport codes honours global connectivity. A notable addition is the compass rose on the hand-polished seconds hand, a nod to exploration and discovery—appearing for the first time in the Worldtimer’s history.

This evocative dial is encased in a polished 42 mm stainless steel case, framed by an anti-reflective sapphire crystal that ensures clarity and durability. It's sub-dial tells you the exact date with a miniature sunburst guilloche pattern. The case back features a see-through design with individual edition numbering (WOS XXX/100), offering a window into the finely tuned mechanisms within.

Paired with a rich dark brown alligator leather strap and a folding buckle, the Worldtimer marries traditional craftsmanship with contemporary comfort. Every component is thoughtfully designed to ensure harmony between aesthetic appeal and functional excellence.

A Masterpiece of Engineering

At the heart of the Classic Worldtimer Manufacture is the in-house automatic FC-718 calibre. Its ingenious engineering allows for the adjustment of all functions directly through the crown—a hallmark of Frederique Constant’s pursuit of simplicity in complexity. The movement’s 38-hour power reserve ensures reliability, while its perlage and circular Côtes de Genève decorations exemplify the artisanal precision synonymous with Swiss watchmaking.

We are honoured to collaborate with The Hour Glass in Singapore, and delighted to celebrate Watches of Switzerland's 60th Anniversary with this limited edition of the Classic Worldtimer Manufacture, an iconic watch from Frederique Constant. Its salmon dial exudes subtle elegance and is enhanced, for the first time in its history, by a discreet compass rose on the counterweight of the seconds hand. A special watch, made with passion to please refined watchmaking enthusiasts.
