From 15-21 August, Watches of Switzerland will be hosting the Summer Watch Festival at the Atrium on Level 1 of NEX. For one week only, we will be presenting a special selection of watches from 10 different brands, showcasing the best of contemporary watchmaking. We have shortlisted some picks that will take your wrists to new heights for this summer and beyond.

On show at the Summer Watch Festival will be collections from:

Bell & Ross | Breitling | THE CITIZEN | Grand Seiko
Junghans | Longines | Louis Erard
NOMOS | Sinn | TAG Heuer

Here are some of the highlights that you will not want to miss at the Summer Watch Festival!

Junghans Meister Chronoscope

Junghans Meister Chronoscope in Fir Green

The popular Meister Chronoscope from this German watchmaker receives a fir-green update. The new dial colour is a tribute to the small city of Schramberg in the Black Forest region, where Junghans has been based for more than 160 years.

Effortlessly combining classic charm with sporty functions, the Meister Chronoscope in fir-green comes with a beige ostrich leather strap. With characteristic recessed counters, the chronograph hands are similarly beige coloured. The 40.7mm stainless steel houses the automatic caliber J880.1, visible through the exhibition case back.

Louis Erard Excellence Petite Seconde Terracotta

Louis Erard Excellence Petite Seconde Terracotta

The Jura watchmaker combines the natural colours with matt textures in the Excellence Petite Seconde Terracotta. Evoking the warmth of the south and the softness of a Franches-Montagnes trail from the home of Louis Erard, this monochrome dial uses contrasting finishes to bring out the subtleties of the design. A circular satin finish breaks the fine grain finish of the centre and minute tracks, highlighting the snailed centre counter at 6 o’clock. The glossy anthracite indexes and polished anthracite signature fir tree hands provide further subtle contrast.

The stainless-steel cased watch is available in 2 sizes – 39mm and 42mm. The automatic movement has 38 hours of power reserve and visible through the display case back. The watch is water resistant to 50m and comes on a dark brown Baranif calf leather strap with beige stitching.

Nomos Ahoi Atlantic

Nomos Ahoi Atlantic

This versatile automatic watch from Glashütte manufacture Nomos will take you from beach to office with ease. The Nomos Ahoi Atlantic boasts a navy-blue dial, serving as the perfect backdrop to the bright white of the numerals and hands that illuminate green in dark conditions, and the pop of red of the seconds hand enhance the sporty look. The screw-down crown is flanked by crown guards, that protect the winding stem from water and impact.

The high precision neomatik DUW 3001 powers the watch. Developed by NOMOS, the slender caliber measures at just 3.2mm in height, with time kept in precise measurement by the NOMOS swing system proprietary escapement. Waterproof to 20 ATM, the watch is ready for a dip in the pool or a swim in the ocean.

Nomos Tangente 35

Nomos Tangente 35

The trend-setting and straightforward Tangente 35 is the epitome of a NOMOS watch. Adhering to classic Bauhaus design principles of form following function, the simple lines of the Tangente gives the watch a clear profile without unnecessary size. This unisex watch measures in at 35mm, a size that is versatile and elegant, which explains its continuous popularity for over 25 years.

Inside the Tangente 35 is the classic in-house built Alpha caliber. This manual wound movement is robust and reliable, with a stop-seconds mechanism to ensure maximum time-setting accuracy. The 17-jewel movement has a distinct German three-quarter plate, and the rhodium-plated surfaces are adorned with NOMOS perlage, Glashütte ribbing and sunburst finishing. When fully wound, the Alpha has a power reserve of 43 hours. The NOMOS Tangente 35 comes on a Horween Genuine Shell Cordovan strap.

Sinn U50 S BS

This latest Sinn U50 S BS is an all-black metal affair for this submarine grade watch. As a sturdy and precise timepiece, the white luminescent markings against the gradient blue and black dial and black diver’s bezel ensure maximum reliability and clear legibility. The case and crown, made of high-strength seawater resistant German submarine steel that also guards against magnetism, is finished with a black hard coating using TENGIMENT technology to ensure effective protection against scratches. The watch is waterproof and pressure resistant to 500m, tested based on European diving equipment standards and certified by DNV.
