Tudor Black Bay Ceramic “Blue” For Visa Cash App RB F1 Team
11 Jul 2024 · 3 min read

Tudor is no stranger to its partnerships with sports teams and professional athletes with David Beckham being one of its longest-serving ambassadors. It is also the official timekeeper for Beckham's football team, Inter Miami, and has established a relationship with the New Zealand national rugby team, the All-Blacks. Having recently been an official sponsor for the Visa Cash App RB Formula1 team earlier this year, Tudor has recently revealed its newest watch, the Black Bay Ceramic "Blue".

Tudor has had a long history with motorsports, which date back to the 1960s and its latest partnership alongside Red Bull's sister team is just the latest in its storied history. This is just the second Tudor Black Bay to feature a 41 mm ceramic case while the collection as a whole is considered one of the brand's more underrated watches. But it's not just the case that has gotten people talking; the striking blue dial was taken after the Visa Cash App RB F1 team's official livery to give it a striking contrast amidst its matte-black ceramic case.

Another noteworthy fact of the Tudor Black Bay Ceramic "Blue" is its METAS certification, which puts it in the same category as the Black Bay 58 GMT. To obtain a METAS certification, the watch had to undergo a series of stringent tests and meet certain requirements. Aside from being Swiss-made, it must be certified by the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC)

As for the tests, the watch will have to prove its precision in two differing temperatures while in several positions and at two different power levels. It will also have to prove how smoothly it can function when exposed to a magnetic field of 15,000 gauss and precision following exposure, being waterproof at 200 m (660 ft), and having a power reserve of 65 hours.

The watch is further accentuated by the polished white accents, which have a striking contrast over the blue dial, a first for the Tudor Black Bay Ceramic. This ranges from its hands to the hour and minute markers to give it a clean, contemporary look. Within its 41 mm matte black ceramic case, which features a micro-blasted finish and monoblock middle case, is the METAS-certified Manufacture Calibre MT5602-1U movement, which is also self-winding with a bidirectional rotor system.

While it is the official watch for the Visa Cash App RB F1 team, the Tudor Black Bay Ceramic is still a diving watch, which explains its ability to withstand water for up to 200 m. There is also a 70-hour power reserve to ensure the Black Bay Ceramic "Blue" stays wound for long periods.

It's not just the dial where the colour blue is featured; it's also available on the hybrid leather and rubber strap via its stitching and is held together by a folding clasp in black PVD-treated 316L steel. If you want to switch things up, the Black Bay Ceramic "Bue" also has an alternate complimentary strap. This includes a black fabric strap with a blue band and a black PVD-treated 316L steel buckle.
