Tudor Watch Exhibition at The Hour Glass Melbourne
Melbourne, Australia: Word travels fast in the watch industry! Just days after Tudor unveiled their 2021 Watches & Wonders novelties, The Hour Glass hosted its inaugural event in the newly renovated Melbourne boutique at 252 Collins Street. To celebrate the occasion, The Hour Glass organised an intimate cocktail event with the full collection on display.
The boutique gallery space, replete with exposed brickwork and architectural elements, embraced the Tudor DNA, with an abundance of blood-red rose bouquets peppered throughout the space, and smartly-dressed waiters serving champagne and zesty negronis. Following the opening event, The Hour Glass hosted a two-day exhibition open to the public. Unsurprisingly, the exhibition proved to be a hit amongst local watch enthusiasts and Tudor watch collectors.
It should come as no surprise that the new ‘Panda’ and ‘Reverse-Panda’ Black Bay Chrono’s proved to be a hit. With its black tachymeter bezel, contrasting dial and sub-dial colour schemes and slimmed-down case, the Black Bay Chrono has a lot going for it. Attendees to the exhibition were also particularly enthralled by the muted allure of the Black Bay Fifty-Eight 18K (REF M79018V-0001). ‘In the metal’, the 18K gold case appears positively refined. Borderline discreet! Any premature apprehensions of an “overly flashy” Black Bay were immediately dispelled upon seeing the green-dialled satin-finished 39MM case on the wrist.
